Our annual review of the winners and honourees from TheStadiumBusiness Awards 2011 is now available to download.
Following the successful launch of TheStadiumBusinessAwards in Dublin in 2010, the second annual Gala Awards evening was held at FC Barcelona’s stunning Camp Nou stadium in June 2011.
A specially-invited audience of over 300 industry leaders – including representatives of all shortlisted nominees, the international delegates of TheStadiumBusiness Summit and TheStadiumBusiness Awards’ commercial partners – was on hand to see the prize-giving; the culmination of a six-month long nomination and judging process.
Thousands of entries were cast by the global stadium sector for the second annual Awards; introduced in 2010 to recognise leadership, innovation and achievement in the delivery, operation and management of sports facilities globally. Entries were narrowed down to a shortlist of potential winners in each category, and judged by an independent panel of industry experts.
The winners of the TheStadiumBusiness Awards 2011 were announced the glittering prize-giving ceremony in Barcelona. Guests were treated to an exclusive ‘behind the scenes’ stadium tour of the famous stadium, before taking their seats for dinner and the Award presentations; held on a specially-erected stage overlooking the famous Camp Nou pitch.
For Awards founder and chair of the judging committee Ian Nuttall, the evening was a fitting end to a successful 2011 Awards process.
“Our 2011 Awards evening was truly special, and a fantastic platform for us to honour the good and great from the stadium industry,” said Nuttall. “The Awards are run for the stadium sector, by the stadium sector, and we had a record number of entries this year from stadium executives around the world. Competition in each of the categories was very, very high, and we therefore extend our warmest congratulations to all of the shortlisted nominees and prize winners.”
